Easy Homestyle Beef Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 pound stew beef local
  • 1 T. oil
  • 3 large cloves garlic
  • 2 C. chopped carrots
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 C. chopped celery
  • 1/2 t. allspice
  • 1/2 t. paprika
  • 2 C. water
  • 2 bay leaves whole
  • 3 red potatoes about 3 C
  • 2 t. soy sauce
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Sear meat in hot oil, using a heavy pan or dutch oven.
  2. Add garlic and cook in beef and oil juices until aromatic.
  3. Chop and add in the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce to a very low simmer, and cover for 3.5 hours.

GLUTEN FREE OPTION: Use Gluten Free soy sauce, such as Tamari.
