This punch is a cool, tart tequila cocktail to sip on all summer long!
Tulsa Tough is coming up! And if you’re from around here you know that means… Drinking (responsibly, of course)! Learn more about the Tulsa Tough race weekend here. It’s a weekend full of competitive bike racing around our city.
The event that draws the most spectators is an event called Cry Baby Hill. People line the streets and sidewalks to watch the bikers go round and round up and down a big loop of this hill that has been affectionately named. This event is most easily recognized by its spectators: there are a lot of rain or shine, ride-or-die type people who have been coming for years. People tend to wear wacky clothes or have wacky props including a lot of baby dolls, in all forms.
This drink was inspired by those spectators and the name of the event. When I think about a cry baby, I think about the sour candies from my childhood. I knew I wanted this drink to be tart but also pack a little bit of a punch, that would be sippable to beat the summer heat. This drink does all of the above!
There is a nice little poem to help you concoct the perfect punch for a party: 1 of sour, 2 of sweet, 3 of strong, and 4 of weak. I used this as a guide for my ratio, and after lots of testing, created something everyone who has tried it so far enjoys… With a little sweetness and a splash of fizz, this is not your ordinary tequila cocktail!
